Ryde Harbour completely dries at low tide. The bottom is a thin layer of sandy mud over a chalk bed. You can walk on the bottom to inspect your boat, but it is advisable to use protective foot wear
Visiting craft, unless otherwise directed by the harbour master, should make their way to the eastern side of the harbour to A pontoon or anywhere along the harbour arm. The pontoon moorings are not suitable for long or fin keel vessels, which should moor against the harbour arm wall.
